Arriving – brightly in the sky!

This is my weekend attempt at colouring in. I’m hiding it over here on my poetry blog… perhaps wishing that a poem might sprout up beside it one day!

Arriving

The original colouring pic is part of a series called Comfort. There were about 20 of them drawn in one day.

Our printer ran out of toner, so I traced  the picture very gently from the screen on to a piece of paper. Turned out okay! Had to be careful not to puncture the soft LCD screen!

You could of course, just squiggle a shape, and then turn it into a picture of your own.  It is amazing the many different ideas that can come from the same squiggle.  I used coloured pencils, a pack of 12. Rainbow colours are a good use of the limited number of colours.  I get to blend each colour over the next a little. The black dotty bits are from an ink pen.

This picture is not on the Wildersoul Colouring Book blog. It might be a secret only to be found here!

Have fun with colour! Light up the sky with your rainbow!

Businessmen and Colourful Art

Today I meet with a businessman. I’ll show him what I’m doing here at Wildersoul, and he will tell us what his association can do for us.  I am wondering if all this might come down to grants and sponsorship, rather than making a profit.  We’ll see.

I would like to fund it myself with sales of my own artwork. That would be pretty cool.

So – here’s a start to doing more colourful artwork: I have started colouring in my own work, and this will hopefully lead to many more colourful adventures!

This was coloured from the Celtric triangle artwork on my Wildersoul Colouring Book.

I am still on track with uploading free artwork for the year. Only 8 months to go…

If you would like your own 6 x 9″ paperback with pictures to colour (they are quite small, so easy to colour in a short space of time, giving a sense of completion quite quickly.)  Then pop over to Amazon and search for Wildersoul Colouring Book. 🙂 The book is quite portable, ideal for whipping out and colouring a pic on a lunchbreak, or while waiting for public transport…

Home in Rainbows – Full of Colour!

I’ve started colouring my own artwork, and decided to keep on with it.  I’ll load them here to start with, and also invite you all to visit Art Is The Cure at http://www.artisthecure.com/ where many other artists, poets and all sorts of creative types gather with a focus on the healing aspect of the arts. I’ve set up a profile there with this pic uploaded for starters. More to follow.

I hope that seeing these pics coloured in provides inspiration.  I will keep them off the colouring book part of my blog, as I believe that the colouring is personal, and I like that you can zoom through and choose a black and white pic that catches your eye.  It is a starting point, and the real creativity happens when you pick up your own pencil or crayon and courage to mark the page, or your mind fills with poetry… or gives birth to a song, or a movie!  Let loose and let the creativity flow 🙂

Happy Colouring to you!

I want to colour so much

I’m breaking my rule of keeping my own colouring in off the blog… Well, it is on my poetry blog, and they are older drawings, so hopefully no-one will notice it too much! I like people to have their own ideas about what to do with their ‘blank canvas.’  Or not so blank canvases…!

My mum coloured the top right pic, and wrote a poem to go with it…

Splat!

Oh dear. It was nice sitting and colouring together. I sometimes wonder if that’s what video chat might be good for – a bit of colouring with company!

I want to colour the Celtic knot I just drew, and the printer is in a room where someone is sleeping, so I am restraining myself… I will go get some more sleep, and do some colouring tomorrow. Do you sometimes get such a strong urge to colour something? To brighten something up… to be creative?  And the urge is blocked?

Hmm – I’m going to colour a blank bit of paper…

(Edit:  I forgot to add this link – http://www.creativetherapies.co/ There’s a description of art therapy, etc)
