Love

love-ii.png.png

Love doesn’t come to a stern command
Love is not a slave

Love does its own will
Love has its own way

Love’s awareness
Is with you
When your heart softens to let it in

Love melts down
All the wrong in the world
Into basic elements
And rebuilds it good and new

Fight the Night

Why do women bellow

Why do women fight

Is it men who are our enemy?

Must we battle them with might?

A world at war within itself

Rips itself apart

Are we really enemies?

Or is it something else, quite dark.

The darkness takes us over

Woman caves, Man succumbs

Shadows race to shroud us –

Reach out for the light!

fellow women, be sisters,

fellow men, our brothers.

Let’s Fight against the Night.

What is within, part two

Love is outside the box
I am within
expanding
to crushing point

Expounding
Your Crushing Point

Love is outside the box
I am within
You are without.
Love enters without a key

Exit your pointless
Crush

Love expands
the point of light
from tiny slit
as the lid is lifted

Love shines

Love shines, that radiant ball that glows bigger than any horizon, brighter than any display of racing sparks rocketing into the black sky of the most vehemently roaring bonfire.

Love is luminous, ethereal, as it wafts through thick tempered steel vaults to enwrap a heart with its softest glow, which melts forged metal into red puddles.

Love is blinding, a flash of brilliance that toasts the sky into oblivion, in a neverending moment you clearly see, love renders the darkness obsolete, invisible, outside the spectrum of light.

Love is outside the box.

Short poems

Anyone keen on doing some poetry? I’m finding it hard to get started, so here is list of prompts to choose from. Be my guest, join in and grab a prompt.

 Life Harrowing Near
 Death Watermelon Freezing
 Love Left Right
 Loss Perfect Window
 Grief Sorrow Next
 Sadness Pain Healing
 Friendship Fear Happiness
 Hope Dazzling Blind
 Joy Radiant Shining
 Peace Beauty Anaphylactic

It makes an unusual poem in itself, with “near death watermelon freezing love…”

1. Okay. Throwing some words together to start with, to see what they do…

Getting angry stops me
going into anaphylactic
shock

Harrowing fear
Perfect loss

Dazzling joy
of friendship
detained until further investigation.

Next
my grief –
stricken
by you.

Sorrow, the painful companion
strokes my heart
cools my head with sudden tears

2. Maybe try some shorter versions…

Life, the ineffable, unfathomable, ever-present, unspeakable beauty

Death, the sudden companion on a dark night, probing indiscreetly, and snatching away in an instant.

Love, the salt in my food, not in my wound.

Grief, locked door to hidden sorrows, masked by pain

Friendship, the doorway to hope, a hand to hold, while leaping across an abyss

Beauty, the silent wonder, ethereal grace, of a world beyond

Give me the key, the salt, and immerse me in what lays beyond.

3. With a rhyme this time…

Harrowing near death experience

brought watermelon tears to my eyes

What a surprise

Freezing love left quickly

before the warmth could melt a broken heart

into a puddle of tears

4. Can the rhyme / it’s time / to stop.

The fear is gone

When the past has been dug up

and the rubbish bundled up and thrown out

The earth smells fresh and sweet

I see you on the street

and my eyes are kind

I say hello

and smile.

You say hi, too.

The fear is gone.

I remember the good times.

When the past was buried deep

And I took you at face-value

Like a delicious pumpkin

growing in the best manure.

I wish you sunshine

to warm your tendrils,

and rain to water your rootlets

May light and love surround you

and the darkness melt away.

Perhaps one day,

we may have more to say.

The fear has gone away.

A long poem

with sweet breath
upon velvet skin
i breathe you in
hay and horseflesh

silky fur
static with sunlight
purring in delight
cat and meatbreath

fluttering beauty
fragile strength
hold my breath
butterfly sips nectar

rough and ready
panting hard
loyal eyes adoring
dog-roll and cow-pats

milky slowness
docile heaviness
maternity swells
cud-chewing bovine

playful antics
upon my warm bed
pouncing in mock attack
kitten chews my finger

budding blossoms
secrete scent
for sweet-seeking
birds and bees

Thought it was time for an animal poem. I love animals.

Don't!
Lie to me
Tell me the truth
Leave me
Do!
I see you
You need me
I know you
Never!
Say I love you
Walk away, no goodbye.

~

I (don't) believe in you
You are (no) different
So (dis)honest
You love me (not)
My mind is (never) made up
Truth is (un)real

My eyes darted, where to?
Hide or run away, there is no place
like Here to Stay, Stand Firm.

The hinges rust off and I am free

A mind sparkles, aflame and aflare
Brightening the night, with blinding glare
Eyes close in peace

Your mind has encompassed the world
and lazily traverses it 100 times a day
while plodders stumble and toil
on their own soil

In dark hours your voice is a strong lifeline of presence
While shivering your words shelter me
A fire ignites in my heart

don't worry I'm still here no suicide note I see you care
and yet it's all a dream because I do not believe you know me

The aching need to find the truth of who cares at all,
who cares the most, deeply strangles my red raw throat,
I die, you cry
