Best news about e-books!

I am stoked! This is what I learned today from the experts of Kindle…

“Although the Amazon Kindle does not have any printing functionality, a user can copy pages to “My Clippings”, copy them to their desktop computer by using the USB cable, and then print from there.”

This means that my colouring book artwork can be printed out from an e-book that I can sell on Amazon. Time to get busy!

Hmm. A double-check… does anyone have an Amazon Kindle that they can test this out on and tell us how well it works? It is apparently good for printing out a recipe to use in the kitchen, too.

Thanks!

I’ve done enough for a mallow puff!

Although I am running late, I am now catching up fast!! My first fifteen contacts have been invited to have a look at my 365+ colouring pictures at http://sbx.sk/AkD1.

And I have a special bookmark folder for other organizations that may love my colouring book. Especially how it can be printed out offline, any time, as many times as you wish.

I am loving it – I am on a bit of a high from having something to sell that I believe in.

Part of me wants to next 75 invites which will bring me up to date on my goal of 1000 for the month of September, with 15 contacts each morning, and 15 each afternoon. So I may pull an all-nighter. Bit of weigh-up on how much sleep I can miss!

Now I really do want a mallow-puff!

(PS – Shaquin helped me squash the 143MB into a mere 100MB. Yay!)

The Boring Poet, Excited Artist

Poetry has gone out the window

as colouring books fly

left and right.

The Artist is shouting

free colouring pics

on a black and white blog

and shouting Colouring Pics!

from the top of her Sellbox

to all passersby

All day she labours hard

to give birth to the physical form of

thoughts and feelings

dreams and ideas
At last,

she rests.

Her work has been shared.

In case you hadn’t heard a tweet, here are two colouring books I am very pleased with. They’re a bit different from your standard. And of course once you have bought and downloaded them, you can print them again and again.  I am focusing on moods or emotion now. Sadness, and Comfort.  Love it if you would visit the best shop I’ve come across yet for selling my own digital files. So easy! And let me know what you think.

OM’s The Wishing Lake – poster design

Check out the new Poem Poster https://www.etsy.com/listing/154618566/oms-the-wishing-lake-poster

I’d like to get it printed and framed. Make a nice gift – something different and unusual!

I am starting off by creating a one-page full-colour PDF, and hope to end up creating illustrated e-books. It takes a bit of getting used to handling the software.  And the technical stuff, you know, sizes and ratios, MBs and pixels, and exporting to different formats without conflict.

Hope you like the result. More to follow! I would like to showcase my favourite poems by authors here on WP. (With their permission of course!)  Thank you OM.

(Preview OM’s poem The Wishing Lake on his blog, HarsH ReaLiTy).

New sit-uation

I am sitting, actually crouching, hunkered down on the floor, at a low bedside table typing.  New plans ready to be hatched tomorrow.  And family to catch up with over the weekend.

My thoughts turn to how best to continue with my colouring pages.  I want the pages to be accessible first of all, and affordable to the masses.  The problem I face is how to make my book accessible to those of you who are in my own country.  (Or any country where the shipping is not free.)  Many of us here add enough Amazon.com items to our shopping carts until the shipping becomes a smaller proportion of the price.  Or we buy gifts for friends in countries that have free shipping!

The other problem, is that I would like you all to be able to choose which pictures you would like in a book.

I would like to offer poster sized artwork, at A4 or US Letter size.  (Easy to print out on your printer at home.)  And thought that downloadable PDF files could work well, with a very small price of say 84 cents per book.  These won’t have the same beautiful printing and binding as found in trade paperbacks.  I could design a cover page to print out at home, and you could choose your own way to bind the collection together.  Also, you could print out on card, or textured or coloured paper if you wish!

This is my hope for my new blog shop.

I notice we have lots of visits from Romania, and hope that the children at school there are enjoying colouring in their choice of pictures.

Folded A5 booklets could work out for schools, if the children wanted to collect their favourite pictures and bind them easily into a book.  I would put two pictures per A4 page (or US Letter size) that can be folded in half.  Then design a cover which folds in the same way, and they can all be stapled together along the fold.  If available, the cover could be printed on to thin card.

The same could be good for offering a supply of colouring books to helpful healing places who do not have a lot of funds to provide free colouring books.

So, that is what I will start solving and working on tomorrow, and for the next two weeks.

Hope you all have some moments of joy over the weekend.
